Stan Lee Interview

Princess Mononoke: Spirits
I finally finished reading through an article Patrick Macias (he of Otaku USA editorial fame) wrote on Stan Lee (he of Spiderman, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, X-Men, etc. fame) in today's Japan Times. And, before you ask, yes, it is in English.

Lee talks about his current manga and anime projects in Japan and muses upon his past success in comic books. I enjoyed it and I hope you do, too!

That’s really interesting! Maybe with someone as well known as Stan Lee getting involved in creating Manga it might become more recognizable as in adult medium in Western society- I’d be nice to not have to constantly defend what you’re reading to people! I can’t count the number of times I’ve had to say “it’s not for kids!”
I love your picture of the Cat-mobile in earlier post- my sister Salimbol and I were imagining cruising down a packed motorway in it- it’d totally demolish cars in your way. He he.

PS- I can’t believe Stan Lee is 85!

One can only hope that the involvement of "The Great One" will help legitimize what is still a misunderstood genre in the West.

I think the Catbus would be an amusing "crash test vehicle," too -- not to mention the look on people's faces as you drove past them! XD

PS - I was surprised to find out he's 85, too! I mean he started in the industry back in the 1940s and ushered in the Golden Age of comics in the 1960s...Amazing, no?

Thanks for the link!

It's amazing how productive, positive and creative Stan Lee has remained. I always grin when I see him in a film or read he's getting behind a new project. Wish there were more people like him.

I know, right? He's been doing this for more than FOUR DECADES! And I love the cameos he makes in his movies -- I was watching one of the X-Men flicks the other day and I just smile whenever he shows up. It's like a Stan Lee version of "Where's Waldo?" XD
